1st Day Hike at Peebles Island

About this event

Ring in the New Year with a hike around picturesque Peebles Island. Join us for a hike starting at either 10:00am or 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.  We’ll hike the 2 miles around the perimeter of the Island, but shorter hikes might be available based on interest.  Meet in the parking lot in front of the Park Office on Peebles Island. 

Some hikes will discuss the Native American presence on the Island, its significance during the Revolutionary War, and other history of this strategic site.  Hikes for people who prefer just to walk our beautiful trails will also be available.  Dress for the weather and bring cameras and binoculars for a chance to see wildlife. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome.

This program is free and open to the public.
