Join the Empire THrowing Club for our 4th annual Scottish Games training day! Whether you are brand new, just curious, or an experienced thrower, you will love trying out the highland games for yourself. Learn the rules and techniques used for the stone, weight, and hammer throws, the sheaf toss, and the iconic caber toss! Experienced coaches are standing by and ready to teach you what you need to know to compete!
The event is a fundraiser for the Shen track and field booster club, so all proceeds go straight to supporting kids who throw.
The morning sessions will introduce the events and focus on practice, and the afternoon will run as a mock competition format. New this year we will be adding a judges clinic for anyone interested in becoming a certified highland games judge! Lunches and tshirts will be available for purchase. All classes are welcome, including men and women from juniors age 14+ all the way to masters 60+. Adaptive athletes are also welcome.
