Outdoor enthusiasts in Clifton Park rejoice! Construction on the highly anticipated Bass Pro Shops location is set to begin this summer. The Clifton Park Planning Board finally approved the final site plans this week, green-lighting the project after over a year of planning.

The new store, occupying a massive 76,976 square feet, will take root at 400 Clifton Park Center Road, previously home to a Chevrolet dealership. This prime location sits near Exit 9 of the Northway, nestled within a bustling shopping district.

The Clifton Park location capitalizes on its proximity to the Adirondacks, a haven for outdoor adventurers with its vast network of trails, countless lakes, and abundant wildlife.

"The Adirondacks have played a significant role in our nation's sporting heritage and conservation efforts," declared Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris when the project was first unveiled. "We are honored to open our newest store in Clifton Park."

Morris continued, "This location will not only pay tribute to the region’s past but will proudly outfit the sportsmen, women and families who continue to enjoy the Adirondacks today. For that, we are humbled, excited and deep down proud.”

A company spokesperson confirmed construction's kick-off this summer, with a projected opening date in fall 2025.

While the designated loading dock on Clifton Park Center Road might cause temporary traffic hiccups during deliveries, the long-term benefits of having a Bass Pro Shops in town are sure to outweigh any minor inconveniences.
