Want to live healthier? There’s and app for that! It seems as though there is an app for just about anything – health and fitness included! Here are my top 10 health and fitness apps:
- Myfitnesspal. This is a great tracking tool for your diet!
- Runkeeper. Not just for running, this app uses the GPS in your phone to track just about any cardio activity.
- C25K. If you’re looking to start running, this program is great. It runs you through pre-programmed workouts designed to get you to a 5k,
- GymPact. Set an exercise goal and set an amount of money to pay if you don’t hit it. Hit all your scheduled workouts and get paid by those who didn’t!
- Gipis. Creates a customized running workout schedule to help you meet your running goals.
- Bodybuilding.com. Track your workouts, read the great workout articles, or visit the forums all from here.
- BodyMedia Fit. I have one of their devices and at any point of the day I can use the app to see how many steps I’ve taken, how many calories I’ve burned, and what my activity levels have been.
- WebMD. Set your interests and get articles pushed to your phone. Or use the symptom checker from anywhere.
- Insight Timer. I use this app for the meditation timer. Set the amount of time you’d like your meditation session to be, and a bell sound will let you know when you are done. There are also guided meditations.
- Facebook. Yep, Facebook. Many of the apps above post your activity to Facebook, so you get built in accountability. There are also a lot of challenge groups to be found.
